The Path to Transforming California's Electric System

California leads the nation in progressive energy and climate policies which have significantly reduced the state's climate footprint.  However, meeting future ambitious goals will require the transformation of many systems and processes that touch all facets of life in the Golden State.  In the electric sector, fundamental changes are underway that will impact how energy is supplied, distributed, and used for many years.  Shifting economics and robust growth have put a future within reach where renewables provide the majority of electricity, but challenges remain to balance distributed, widespread renewables with a reliable grid and to determine the financial structures that will facilitate the transition.

Join Science and Engineering Policy at Caltech (SEPAC) for a panel discussion with utility, NGO and policy experts on the process to put aggressive climate policies in place and the challenges and opportunities related to transforming California's electric grid.

Lunch provided (Vegetarian and Vegan options) - come promptly. All members of the community are welcome to attend.
