Translational Science and Engineering Facility (TSEF)
About the Translational Science and Engineering Facility (TSEF)
The Translational Science and Engineering Facility (TSEF) will provide space to researchers for advancing early-stage sustainability technologies towards proof-of-concept demonstrations that may lead to further development as commercial products or for adoption by government or other entities to further sustainability objectives.
The TSEF space includes a high bay space, a maker workroom space, and several laboratories that can host a variety of different types of projects simultaneously. The high bay space (31'-6" x 41'-6") is equipped with a monorail crane with access to the building loading dock. The high bay is also equipped with an 8-foot fume hood, adjustable and movable benches, and storage units. The low bay space (31'-6" x 41'-6") is equipped with movable and adjustable benches and provides direct access to the support laboratories, which have fume hoods, sinks, benchtops, and storage spaces. The maker space can accommodate manual, semi-automated, and automated fabrication bench-top equipment and tools.
