OPF Based Receding Horizon Control of RES-Equipped Grids
Luigi Glielmo, Department of Engineering, Università del Sannio,

I3RES is a FP7 EU funded research project whose objective is to propose a flexible software platform able to manage modern electrical grids equipped with renewable energy sources and storage systems. In this talk it will be presented an approach for optimizing the power generation costs taking into account the electrical behavior of the grid (physical constraints, Kirchhoff laws, etc.) and exploiting the presence of a storage system. The idea, based on the receding horizon control paradigm, is implemented on the I3RES platform. Numerical results allow to estimate the gain that can be achieved by the proposed methodology.
