Hana Hisamune

Zeller-Resnick First Year Fellow 2026

Hana is a graduate student in Applied Physics. She earned her bachelor's degree at Caltech with a double major in Physics and Materials Science. She is interested in understanding fundamental phenomena in optics and materials to design devices for sustainable energy applications. Her past work has focused on improving the stability of perovskite solar cells and, through Caltech's Space Solar Power Project, reducing the cost of solar technologies through low-cost contact fabrication and luminescent solar concentrators. For her PhD, Hana hopes to develop new device architectures and materials that can improve the performance and accessibility of solar technologies, helping accelerate the widespread adoption of solar energy and meet growing global energy demands.
