Pierce Dillon
Profile
Cross-Resnick First Year Fellow 2026
Pierce is a PhD student in Biology. He earned her undergraduate degree in Applied Mathematics and Engineering Sciences from Northwestern University in 2026. He has worked in Granular Physics, Critical Minerals, Computational Chemistry, Quantitative Ecology, and with several Microbial-biology focused start-ups. His interests lie in finding low-dimensional explanations for the complex behaviors of microbial life. He is particularly interested in both the diversity of microbes and their ability to persist through extinction-level events. At Caltech, he aims to combine theory, computation, and experiment to unlock the secrets of microbial biology that can help us mitigate climate change and heal Earth's systems.
