César Lasalde-Ramírez
Profile
Zeller-Resnick First Year Fellow 2023
César is a student in the Materials Science PhD program. He earned his undergraduate degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Puerto Rico, graduating as the most distinguished student in the class. His undergraduate research experience spanned projects in the fabrication of printed thin-film transistors, simulations of DNA nanostructures, photoelectrochemical carbon dioxide conversion, and photoelectrochemical water splitting. At Caltech, he aims to do research in the emerging field of carbon capture, usage, and storage. His dream is to use the knowledge he'll gain from his Ph.D. to help transition Puerto Rico and other islands in the Caribbean to new renewable energy technologies that will further mitigate climate change.
