Yue Bai
Profile
Zeller-Resnick First Year Fellow 2020
Yue is a graduate student in environmental science & engineering. She holds a BS in Environmental Science & Atmospheric and Oceanic Sciences from UCLA. Yue has always been interested in sustainability and oceanography, especially in high-latitude ocean dynamics and their connection with global climate. Climate change has triggered the melting of ice-sheets, which is influenced by ocean currents. Understanding the sensitivities of such currents, and how they connect and exchange with the rest of the ocean basins is therefore critical for future climate prediction and regulation. Yue is excited to start her research at Caltech on the Southern Ocean current system, exploring its interaction with the continent of Antarctica and the open ocean from a physical and biogeochemical perspective.
